Clinical Application of Biofeedback-assisted Electrical Stimulation in Foot Drop after Stroke

(Summary description)

Information

In recent years, the incidence of stroke has been increasing, and foot drop is a common symptom in patients with hemiplegia after stroke. After central nervous system injury, the patient's triceps calf muscle group has abnormal tension and spasm, and the persistent spasm is not relieved by stretching, which may lead to achilles tendon contracture and turn reversible foot drop into irreversible foot drop.

At present, the clinical practice mainly focuses on rehabilitation function exercise, physiotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine, such as limb function exercise, electrical stimulation, biofeedback, transcranial magnetic stimulation, acupuncture, etc., among which electrical stimulation and biofeedback are the basic rehabilitation methods.
